Welcome to St. Mary's web site. The following pages contain much information on our parish, its colourful and interesting history, its groups and societies and all aspects of parish life. Our most important role as a community is preaching and living the Gospel message through our worship of Almighty God, passing on the Catholic Faith and responding positively to all appeals and initiatives that complement these objectives. We are very fortunate that we have one of the finest early Victorian Catholic churches in the south, two daughter churches at Bembridge and Seaview and the two famous Benedictine abbeys at Quarr and St. Cecilia's. Hopefully, as you browse through the pages of our website, you will find much to interest you.

As Chairman of the Parish Council, I am pleased to recommend this new parish website both to parishioners and to visitors. You will find much to interest you; but, hopefully, you will also find much with which to be involved. The many groups and societies are an asset to the parish and to our work of spreading the Faith and making the Gospel message known in the wider community. You will see in the pages of this website that we have a proud history here in Ryde, of which we can be proud. However, we must look to the present and the future and ensure that our ministry and our commitment to Almighty God and the Catholic Faith will result in a thriving Church; and, that future generations will be able to look back and see a good account of our stewardship.
